MHACA has been busy celebrating 2018 Mental Health Week. A highlight this year was recognition of the wonderful contribution Kath Broadbent has made to the mental health sector over many years. She was awarded Mental Health Worker of the Year by the Hon. Vicki OHalloran, Administrator of the Northern Territory at Government House on the 10th October 2018.
Embrace Multicultural Mental Health is a national organisation that works to strengthen the cultural responsiveness and inclusivity of Australia’s mental health and suicide prevention services.
Embrace supports multicultural communities by providing access to mental health resources, links to services, and translated information in a range of languages — including clear explanations about what mental health is and how to seek support.

MHACA’s CEO, Nicole Pietsch — who also serves as Chair of the NT Committee for Suicide Prevention Australia — hosted the NT LiFE (Living is For Everyone) Awards last week in Darwin.
The awards celebrate the work of individuals and organisations dedicated to suicide prevention. It was also a great opportunity to connect with the Northern Territory PHN team and other organisations from across the Territory.
