Carers NT is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for carers of The Northern Territory. A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to family members and friends who are living with a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue, or who are frail aged.
Nationally, there are 2.86 million unpaid family carers and that equates to 1 in 8 Australians who have some form of carer responsibility at any one time. It is likely that you will know a carer, be a carer or need a carer at some point in your life.
Mental Health Carers ARAFMI Australia is a collective of organisations whose members are mental health carers.
Arafmi presents the views and perspectives of carers and advocates for changes and services to improve the lives and wellbeing of people affected by mental illness, including carers and family members.
Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia (NT), (MIFANT) is a non-government organisation providing services for people living with a mental illness and their carer’s and families.
