August Group Activities Calendar

The MHACA Group Activities program is a community based program which aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with mental illness by offering structured and socially based activities. Group activities also provide an opportunity for participants to develop personally and professionally as Peers.

Currently all MHACA programs, including the Day Program, remain open with increased hygiene and physical distancing measures in place.

To participate in MHACA group activities you must have a diagnosed mental health condition. Call 08 89522597 or email info@mhaca.org.au to inquire about group activities or an intake interview.

In addition to structured activities, a Drop-in Centre is open Monday 8.30am – 1.30pm, Tuesday – Friday from 8.30am to 3.00pm. Drop-in includes a welcoming space where people can come and work on their recovery in a variety of ways. The program provides a comfy lounge area, kitchen facilities, and computers with internet access, an assortment of activities such as board games, library, DVD’s and music, art/craft and physical activities, as well as laundry and bathroom facilities.

MHACA is seeking a Case Worker to join our Housing and Homelessness team.

This role will support people who live with mental health challenges who are homeless or facing homelessness to access safe and secure accommodation. This role will also help people to sustain tenancies through advocacy, case management, financial planning, living skills education and referrals to other services.

We are seeking an experienced Case Worker with a strong ability to prioritise a portfolio of participants requiring complex case management, coordination, and planning, along with a demonstrated understanding of tenancy management and the homelessness sector.

SALARY LEVEL: $88,970.98 – $93,661.02 (MHACA EBA/SCHADS Level 4) + 12% super
POSITION HOURS: 38 hours a week. Full-time and ongoing.
